This conference seeks to address the challenges and opportunities faced by Engineers in addressing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development set and will be an opportunity for the engineering community and stakeholders to discuss technical and engineering solutions to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). \nThis conference shall in particular touch on the following SDGs with high relevance to the engineering profession: \n\nSDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation\nSDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy\nSDG 9: Industry\, Innovation and Infrastructure\nSDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities\nSDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production\n\nThe 29th Annual Engineering Conference will be held on Friday 14th October 2022 at the Radisson Blu Resort in St Julians. Registration will begin at 8:30am and the programme will run until 5:00 pm. DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday 22nd March 2022\, Tech.mt Foundation Malta will host the closing event of the first phase of the Women4IT Project\, an initiative which has been going on for the past three years. Women4IT is a multi-stakeholder partnership funded by the Norwegian\, Icelandic and Liechtenstein Foundation Youth Employment Program and aims to promote the involvement of young women in ICT professions and in digital works.  \nThe event will be held in the presence of all the participating stakeholders involved throughout all the various stages of the project. Participating women who received the training\, prospective employers and assisting stakeholders\, were among the attending audience.

DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day\, which is observed internationally on March 15th\, the MCCAA’s Office for Consumer Affairs will host a half-day conference titled ‘Empowering consumers in the digital and green transition.’ \nConsumers today have unrestricted access to a diverse array of novel and creative goods and services. This fact necessitates the adoption of updated consumer standards that appropriately protect consumers and eliminate legal loopholes. The new Sale of Goods and Digital Content Regulations\, which take effect on 1st January 2022\, have provided European consumers with a common set of rules that protect them when purchasing goods with digital components and ensure their right to conformity with the contract of sale for digital content or services. The conference will address the significance and ramifications of these new policies for consumers and local industry.
