In 2025, Tech.mt continued to strengthen Malta’s technology ecosystem through targeted support for local businesses, increased international engagement, strategic collaboration, and initiatives focused on innovation and digital skills. The year marked continued momentum in positioning Malta as a forward-looking and competitive technology hub, while supporting businesses in accessing new markets, developing capabilities, and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.

As a key enabler within the ecosystem, Tech.mt supported over 300 businesses through guidance, strategic connections, and access to opportunities, while the Tech.mt Members Directory grew to over 480 companies. The Strategic Partnership Initiative also expanded to 55 industry partners, providing businesses with access to mentorship, expertise, insights, and valuable connections across Malta’s technology and business ecosystem.

On the international stage, the inMalta initiative continued to strengthen Malta’s presence within the global technology ecosystem, enabling Maltese companies to participate in GITEX Europe, London Tech Week, GITEX Global, and Web Summit. These international platforms provided local businesses with direct access to international markets, investors, industry leaders, and potential partners, while raising Malta’s visibility as an innovation-driven technology hub. In total, during 2025, Tech.mt led a delegation of 59 Maltese tech-based companies to business missions in EU, UK and UAE.

Locally, Tech.mt organised or supported 35+ events, creating opportunities for businesses, students, educators, investors, and stakeholders to connect and exchange knowledge. Initiatives such as the Tech.mt: Support for Tech Businesses, TECHXPO, and SkillScape reinforced the focus on digital education, emerging technologies, future-ready skills, and stronger links between industry and education.

Alongside 9 promotional campaigns and 15 collaborations, Tech.mt advanced projects supporting entrepreneurship, cybersecurity education, and responsible technology use. These included the CybARverse project, supporting the MDIA Startup Launchpad pre-accelerator, and the P.O.P-up Project by The Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society. Tech.mt also strengthened its communications and digital presence, including improvements to its website and targeted outreach.

Tech.mt’s strategy for 2026 will focus on three core priorities:

  • Strengthen Malta’s international positioning by expanding business missions, increasing participation in key global technology markets, and attracting high-value foreign direct investment;
  • Support startups and scale-ups through improved access to mentorship, funding guidance, internationalisation opportunities, investors, and strategic partners;
  • Advance digital skills, AI adoption and innovation by supporting businesses in adopting digital and AI-driven solutions, strengthening talent development, and connecting education, industry, research, and policy, while promoting Malta’s technology ecosystem and supporting national and EU priorities for digital transformation, inclusion, and technology-led growth.
