Strategic Partnership Agreement with Industry to assist the local Tech Start-up Ecosystem and Academia
Tech.mt, a foundation set up by the Government of Malta and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, is interested in establishing a deep strategic partnership with some of the biggest players in the tech industry to offer their expertise and knowledge to local start-ups, businesses and academia.
Through our market insight to the start-up and business ecosystem, there are multiple phases of their life cycle in which start-ups, small businesses or students and academics with innovative ideas struggle. Whether its concept validation, product development, launching on the market or reaching clients, they require support for their survival and growth. Given the challenging conditions that any start-up or small business has, investing in consultancy or high-end expertise is an expense that only few may afford.
The main purpose of this strategic partnership is to assist start-ups, small businesses and academia which have an innovative concept but don’t have the knowledge or the experience to move their concept forward. This initiative will ultimately provide them with unbiased feedback from an external perspective, management advice, strategic planning and marketing tactics.
We are therefore seeking partners who are willing to offer their expertise and advice to local start-ups, small businesses and academia.

Terms & Conditions
Applicability
These terms and conditions apply to all partnership agreements with Tech.mt. No derogation from these terms and conditions is permitted unless this has been agreed in writing.
These terms and conditions will come into force only after they have been accepted in writing by the Partner.
Conclusion of agreements
The Partnership Agreement will be concluded by acceptance by the Partner of the proposition made by Tech.mt. This acceptance may be evident from signature of a corresponding Partnership Agreement.
Eligibility
To be considered as a Partner, the interested party must satisfy the following criteria:
- Is a private company, research organisation, or technology centre with over 10 years of industry experience.
- Has a good understanding of the market it operates in.
- Is operationally viable and qualified to perform the responsibilities specified in the agreement.
- Has an established customer portfolio.
Advertisement
At the request of Tech.mt, the Partner shall supply its particulars (logo, name, marketing material, etc.) in good time and in the manner agreed in advance. Such particulars may be published on Tech.mt’s website and social media channels.
Prior consultation with Tech.mt will always be held about the special manner of presenting the business name, product name or brand name or the advertisement of the Partner.
Partner Contribution
The Partner will be responsible for offering up to fifteen (15) hours of free consultancy to eligible beneficiaries, potentially providing their expertise in but not limited to validating a digital concept, consultancy on emerging technology, market assessment and go-to-market strategies, digital strategies, e-commerce and digital marketing, and internationalisation.
It is also within the Partner’s obligations to nominate a key expert or experts within their organisations to provide such consultations.
Exclusivity
The Partner is not entitled to exclusivity as regards to a partnership. Tech.mt will be entitled to allow direct competitors of the Partner to establish other partnership agreements.
Mutual obligations
Both parties shall refrain from acts, such as public performances in any context whatsoever, which could harm or prejudice the reputation of the other party and/or the interests served by its communications.
Consultation
The Partner shall keep Tech.mt periodically informed of the progress made in relation to its activities with the beneficiaries. Such periodic progress notifications shall ensure that confidentiality obligations between the Partner and the beneficiary are not breached.
Term and termination
Unless agreed otherwise, the Partnership Agreement will end once the obligations have been fulfilled.
Either party will be entitled at all times to terminate the Partnership Agreement early, with immediate effect, if:
- the intended objectives of this Partnership Agreement become completely unattainable
- its reputation is in danger of being seriously harmed by the acts or omissions of the other party
- the other party becomes involved in a business takeover or merger as a result of which it ceases to be competent to act independently
- there has been a fundamental breach by the Partner of an obligation resulting from the Partnership Agreement
This Partnership Agreement shall be subject to the laws of Malta, without regard to choice or conflicts of law principles.
Disputes
Any dispute arising out of the interpretation, application or implementation of any of the provisions of the Partnership Agreement shall be settled amicably through consultation or negotiation between the parties.
Final Provisions
The Partner may not assign the rights resulting from the Partnership Agreements wholly or partly to third parties, without the express written consent of Tech.mt.
Tech.mt is acting solely as an intermediary between the Partner and the beneficiary and thereby bears no legal liability.
