The current COVID-19 pandemic has shown how important digital assets have become to our economy and how basic and advanced digital skills sustain our society.
Although 85% of the Maltese population uses the internet at least once a week, only 56% possess at least basic digital skills. Some barriers still persist. Investing in human capital to create more opportunities and promote the wellbeing of society must be paired with the appropriate skills to take advantage of the digital society.
Tech.mt’s mission revolves around the fundamental principles of enhancing Malta’s digital competitiveness by investing in initiatives to develop a high-quality specialised skill base and to maximise employment opportunities, with an emphasis on tackling the digital divide and increasing female participation in the workforce.
