The 2021 edition of the innovation scoreboard highlights that the EU’s innovation performance continues to increase at a steady pace. On average, the innovation performance of the EU has increased by 12.5% since 2014. Performance increased in all 27 EU countries. Performance increased strongly for Malta (+14.9 % points), with strong performance increases recorded in 2018 and 2019.
