inMalta Events Attended

GITEX (Dubai) and Web Summit (Lisbon)

Can you share a specific experience during the inMalta 2023 event that impacted your business or professional growth?

We were members of various expos as part of inMalta’s delegation. This was extremely helpful not only to get us in the door to these expos but also to be part of a coalition that represented a diversity of Malta’s technical offerings. We might be too small or not directly on someone’s radar on our own to draw attention, but when combined with the other inMalta companies, collectively we all become more interesting. In many cases, members of inMalta would meet someone at the front of the booth and directly make introductions to us based on the conversations that they had. This allowed us to quickly jump into more substantial conversations as these people were already vetted before coming to us.

How has participating in the inMalta 2023 international events helped your business in terms of visibility, networking, or other opportunities?

By being a part of expos in both Lisbon and Dubai, it allowed us to get a better understanding of the different markets (EU vs MENA) in terms of opportunity, viability and roadmap. We were able to make a lot of connections in both areas to help facilitate everything from staffing, to office space, to sales enablement. We also were more easily able to understand the maturity of the ecosystem towards our solution and better quantify the priority of focusing on one region over another. This is invaluable in terms of making sure our limited resources are pointed in the right direction and have a higher likelihood of being effective where deployed.

Another unforeseen advantage was the networking between the other Maltese companies. In many conversations, we were also able to see potential opportunities that we could offer one another. This led to discussions and inquiries that we had not planned for but were happy to explore.

What advice would you give to businesses considering joining the inMalta 2024 delegation?

As with any delegation group, the most important thing to be successful is to go with an open mind and an energetic spirit. You will get out of a delegation what you put in. In some cases, the only initial benefit will just be name recognition/awareness. The more outgoing and conversational you are, the more opportunities to have ‘the right conversation’ will present. It is important to let inMalta understand what your objectives are and what you are hoping to achieve because then they are more able to execute towards this vision. They were highly responsive and wanted feedback on how they could facilitate our having a successful engagement.
