Hi, my name is Lucas and I’m Head of Development at RiskDeck. We recently developed a risk-management and compliance solution, dedication to asset managers, risk managers, but also institutional investors. We are a team coming from the USA and Europe which are composed of experts in the fields of IT, investment banking but of course asset and risk management and we recently incorporated our company in Malta.

Lucas, can you give us a bit of an overview about your software, what are the services your software offers as RiskDeck.

Yes, there are many functionalities that make RiskDeck a front runner in digitalizing risk management operations. First of all, we provide real-time reporting and portfolio analysis, anywhere at any time because it is a web-based interface for many types of (browsers) whether it’s Internet Explorer from your home or your office, you can access this platform. Another one is that RiskDeck comes as a centralised solution or a platform. Also another important point is that you can deal with any kind of asset classes, such as liquid assets, equities, it could be bonds, non-liquid assets, and so forth. If only 20% of the portfolio needs to be invested in Europe and the rest in Asia for example, then if that portfolio invests, that is, it is recorded that it invests above this 20% in Europe then there’s automatic e-mails that are sent to managers so that they are aware of that breach and so they’d be able to correct this, and quite quickly. You have full control of your data, that’s very important to take into consideration, and all of the data reports are hosted on either your servers or is secured on our own servers, which can also be cloud or otherwise.

Who is going to benefit the most from your software?

The ones it’s going to help the most are risk managers and asset managers, both of which are require agents for the good functioning of a fund. These are definitely the ones, even after discussing with some actors in Malta, as in Fintech and finance hub. We really have some good returns so we strongly believe that there’s some necessity and there is definitely a demand that we need to respond to with RiskDeck.

Here to tell us a bit, and here’s Dana, welcome Dana to our conversation, from Tech.mt. Maybe Dana, you can tell us straight away, as Tech.mt, how did you support Lucas in the creation of their software, which now they’re in their final stages of?

Well, we’re very happy to see companies like RiskDeck choosing Malta as their technology hub to develop their solutions. With regard to help and assistance, we came across the company (because) they were trying to establish themselves here in Malta. The assistance that Tech.mt offers is related to helping companies delve into bureaucratic processes on the island, what type of people they’d like to meet, be it investors, or maybe possible potential clients, and we direct them, in the case of RiskDeck, where to immediately focus, and that I believe is an added value that Tech.mt is offering. It saves a lot of valuable time and also it makes foreigners who decide to invest in our country feel that they are part of our society immediately.
