ShapeLamp
Overview of product or service
Shapelamp’s products are modelled as an algorithm using Rhino3D and Grasshopper. The final result is a Grasshopper file (a 3D model that is built from visual) that is uploaded to ShapeDiver’s servers which is then read and is output as a 3D model that can be manipulated and partially edited on Shapediver’s backend to add an environment and lighting. This online file then connects through an API to Shapelamp’s website and the model can be viewed and manipulated from Shapelamp’s platform.
Value added features and benefits
The parametric 3D model, is a main feature within the Shapelamp concept. Such technology provides a wide array of possibilities and solutions in visualising the products from designing stages all the way to manufacturing.
Technology
Shapelamp uses a parametric 3D model viewer to display the products and also manipulate them. Shapelamp uses a service provider called “ShapeDiver” that reads the algorithm and displays it online as a 3D model.
